Is Electrolysis Effective?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanently eliminating unwanted hair. Unlike temporary solutions, it prevents hair regrowth by treating the follicle. While electrolysis permanently removes hair, the FDA classifies laser and IPL treatments as a hair reduction methods. Laser works by targeting the pigment in dark hair, making it most effective for individuals with thick, dark hair and light skin. Many people combine laser with electrolysis to speed up their hair removal journey, using a laser to reduce large areas of dark hair followed by electrolysis for complete removal.

How Does Electrolysis Work?

Electrolysis involves a sterile, fine probe that transmits a low-level electric current into the natural opening of the hair follicle. This process targets and destroys the dermal papilla, the matrix, and an area called “the bulge,” which are responsible for promoting hair growth and regrowth. Klumj Electrolysis Sydney practices multi-probe electrolysis also known as multi-needle galvanic method. The method has been used for decades and is safe and very effective at removing hair permanently.

Are There Any Side Effects of Electrolysis on the Skin?

After treatment, some individuals may experience temporary redness or mild tenderness, varying from person to person. Thanks to technological advancements, electrolysis is now more comfortable and efficient than ever. Modern epilators work much faster, delivering currents in mere thousandths of a second compared to the longer durations used in the past. Additionally, the intensity of the treatment can be adjusted to suit each client and specific treatment area.

What Will it Cost?

As a guide, our charges for single epilator treatments of 16 probes are:

• 30 mins: $100 (minimum)
• 45 mins: $130
• 60 mins: $150

For two epilator and 32 probes:

• 60 mins: $225 (minimum)
• 90 mins: $315
• 120 mins: $400

Please note that not all hair removal treatments are suitable for 32 probes. It will largely depend on the area being treated.

Klumj Electrolysis adheres to all relevant skin penetration laws and guidelines. New, sterile needles are used for each client and are disposed of immediately after use. Autoclave sterilization is applied to any non-disposable items before treatment.
